When you are building a feed design in the Ad Builder, you are able to filter the feed by adding criteria that targeting a specific set of product rows.

IMPORTANT NOTE
Marpipe's filters/product sets only dictate which items in your feed will have the design applied to it. The items that are delivered in your ads will ultimately be dictated by the product set you choose for the ad in Ads Manager.

Add Feed Filters

  1. In the top right corner of the canvas, click the filter icon

  2. Click Add Filter button in the window that appears

  3. Select a column in the first dropdown

  4. Select an operator in the second dropdown

  5. Input column values to be checked for in the value input. If you have multiple values to input, separate each value by a comma-space:

    value 1, value 2, value 3, value 4

  6. Click Apply

Previewing With Filtered Products

Once you've added filters to your feed, you can shuffle through relevant filtered products in your design:

  1. Go back to Edit Template
  2. From left navigation, click Columns tab
  3. Click shuffle button on the top of the column panel

Remove Feed Filters

  1. From the Link Columns page or Preview Creatives page, click Filters in the right panel
  2. Click trashcan icon behind the existed filters to remove it
  3. Click Apply

Click Clear All on the top of the filter list to remove all filters

Filter Options/Operators

Stacking Filters ("and") vs Multiple Values ("or")

Each filter you add will work off of the previous filter in your stack, creating "and" logic:

[title] [contains] [dress]
[title] [contains] [skirt]

The feed will first filter down to products whose title contains the word "dress" then filter further down from there to products whose title also contains the word "skirt"

In order to include multiple values from a single column, you can instead separate the values on the same filter using a comma-space, creating "or" logic:

[title] [contains] [dress, skirt]

The feed will filter down to products whose title contains either the word "dress" or the word "skirt"

Saved Product Sets

If you find that you're using the same set of filter criteria over and over for designs, you can save your filters as a product set.

To do so, add your filters in, then click Save in the top right of your filter window.

Name your product set and click save. You'll now be able to quickly filter by that product set's name in your designs.

Referenced Field Filters

When linking a layer to a product field in your feed, the design will auto-filter itself down to only products that actually have a value in that field. If there is no value for a given product in that field, it will not appear in the design.

Adding a product field as a layer to the canvas creates the filter [field_name] [is Set]

Example 1 - Sale Items

Not every product in your feed is going to be on sale. When you drag the sale_price field on to the canvas as a layer, you are effectively filtering down the design to only items that have a sale_price associated with them. All other full price items will not appear, since there is no sale value associated with them.

Example 2 - Additional Images

While every product in your feed has a primary image, some products may have 4 additional images, while others only have 3, and some might not have any additional images at all. Additional images are organized in the same order they're received from the feed. If you drag the 4th additional image onto the canvas, you are filtering down the design to only products that have at least 4 additional images associated with them. Any product with 3 or less additional images will not appear, since there is nothing in that 4th additional image slot to add into the layer.
